Kagera Appeal Gift Day
Today is a day for us to consider our support for Kagera, our link diocese in Tanzania, which is experiencing great hardship as the rains have failed and people are starving.
The Church will be open to receive financial gifts from 9.00am to 4.00pm. At both services we welcome Diane Milan as our speaker. Diane has been a member of the Diocesan Kagera Working Party for over five years and has worked in Tanzania.
At 2.30pm there will be an illustrated talk in church by Marion Gray and Mike Arbon who have both visited Kagera and will be sharing their experiences.
Envelopes for your gift will be available as you come into Church. Please consider Gift Aid as it enables your gift to be increased. Your gift can be handed in during the gift day or any time up to Easter Day.
If you are making out a cheque for the Kagera Lent Appeal, please make it payable to ‘Stowmarket PCC’.
Be a School Governor?
Chilton Community Primary School is looking for skilled volunteers to become new School Governors to work with the school’s Senior Leadership Team to set strategic direction, monitor school performance and ensure that the school’s budget is well spent, all to ensure that the school provides the best possible education for its pupils. This is an opportunity to serve the wider community.

We would be grateful if you could plant some extra seeds or take cuttings from plants for us to sell at The Plant Sale in May. If you would like any bucket size containers to use for bigger plants and trees please speak to Michael.
If you have any unwanted or broken jewellery and watches, old coins, old mobile phones, Tablets, sat navs, laptops, cameras
etc. please put them in the box in front of the PA desk and to save them going into landfill we can raise some money for The 3R’s Project.
If anyone has any photos of the Christmas Tree Festival which we could consider using for this year’s Christmas Cards please email them to Judy.

Messy Church dates
The dates for Messy Church, especially for the 3-9 years age group and their parents/carers, for the first quarter of 2017 are:
• 26th March
• 23rd April
Please note these in your new diary!
Please pray for our fellowship as we consider how to share the good news with our neighbours and townsfolk.
Please pray for our link diocese in Kagera, Africa. Times are especially difficult in Kagera this year because of climate change and the consequent loss of reliable rains for crops, which has had a particularly devastating effect on two districts but is affecting all parts with reduced crop yields and income.
A leaflet from the Diocese, with opportunities for learning and development for everyone, is pinned to the board next to the coffee area. Do take a look

Nuisance Telephone Calls
Many people are bothered by frequent unsolicited telephone calls. Some of these cannot be stopped easily because they are made by individuals or companies acting outside the law. However, many such calls can easily be stopped by contacting the Telephone Preference Service, free, on www.tpsonline.org.uk. Alternatively, you can call 0845 070 0707 to register your number, but here will be a charge for the call.
If you go onto Street View on Google maps you can take a look around the outside of our Church and also step through the doors and see what’s inside as well. We are the first Church in the county to allow you to do this.

If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one.
Bible verses about feeding the hungry.
Isaiah 58:7 Share your food with the hungry, and give shelter to the homeless. Give clothes to those who need them, and do not hide from relatives who need your help.
Ezekiel 18:7 He does not rob the poor but instead gives food to the hungry and provides clothes for the needy.
Luke 3:11 Whoever has two shirts should share with the person who doesn’t have any. Whoever has food should share it too.
Matthew 10:42 I tell all of you with certainty, whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones will never lose his reward.
Proverbs 19:17 The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the Lord, and the Lord will repay him for his good deed.
